Landslides caused by Typhoon Parma killed 12 people in two northern Philippines villages, police said Sunday, raising the death toll from the storm to at least 16.
Senior Superintendent Loreto Espineli said Sunday that a family of five died when their home in a village in Benguet province was buried. Another seven people where killed when a house was buried in a nearby town.
The typhoon came just eight days after an earlier storm left Manila awash in the worst flooding in four decades, killing almost 300 people.
